To be able to use item crafting in Star Ocean The Second Story R, you will need to acquire the skills needed to use the specific item crafting method you want. To do this, go to the Upgrade menu, then to the IC/Special Skills menu, since IC stands for Item Crafting. Here you can go ahead and either select the skills required for your desired item crafting method or click the button corresponding to the “Toggle Upgrade” option at the bottom of the screen.
